Standard nonrefracting condition

In acoustics, a hypothetical condition of constant sound velocity in all directions, such as would occur in an isothermal atmosphere under no-wind conditions. A standard nonrefracting condition results in sound rays propagating in straight lines in all directions (that is, without refraction).
